Our custom swordfish rigs come with 15-feet of 250-pound smoked blue Momoi Hi-Catch. The leader material is very supple and provides for a much better presentation of the bait than fluorocarbon particularily with rigged squid. Both ends of the leader are crimped with Momoi �F� crimps which are 1.7mm - appropriate for the line. On one end we crimp on a 330-pound Spro Power Swivel which gets tied directly to the main line. The 330-pound Spro Power Swivel glides nicely through your wind-on guides. On the other end we crimp on the hook.

We use only the finest hooks on the market and thus we go with Owner Jobu style hook either in 10/0 or 11/0. We use the bigger 11/0s for the live baits and 10/0s for dead squids.

On the leader that will deploy the squid we add a 3 to 4 inch tag end to assist in rigging the squids. The other rig which is used for live bait has the tag end of the mono flush to the crimp and has an 8-inch waxed thread loop on the base of the hook to bridle the bait on to the hook.
